Griffin - Spalding County 2017 SPLOST

The Spalding County Board of Commissioners, City of Griffin, City of Orchard Hill and City of Sunny Side have approved a referendum for a one-cent transportation special purpose local option sales tax (TSPLOST) that will fund road resurfacing, intersection improvements and paving of dirt roads. If approved by the voters on November 7, 2017, the tax will be collected beginning April 1, 2018 for a period of 5 years. Spalding County and the municipalities of Griffin, Orchard Hill and Sunny Side will share the TSPLOST proceeds. The lists compiled for the TSPLOST represent a significant investment in the infrastructure that contributes to our quality of life.

TSPLOST is estimated to bring in approximately $42 million dollars over a period of 5 years which will be split between Spalding County and the City of Griffin. The projects identified for the cities of Orchard Hill and Sunny Side will be included in the project lists for Spalding County and the City of Griffin.
