David Phillips
Born
December, 1963, to Henry and Dr. Patricia Phillips, graduate of
Griffin High School, attended Gordon, UGA, University of Central
London and graduated from Georgia State University in 1987 with a
major in broadcast production & a minor in Asian History.
Married Michelle Yonce of Commerce who currently teaches 6th grade
language arts in the Griffin-Spalding County School System. Michelle
recently completed her Masters in Education and has begun work on her
Doctorate.
Dave
is the owner of Dave’s Guns and Guy Stuff located on Old Atlanta Road
in Griffin. He is also a radio broadcaster, filling in or hosting
forums, debates and election coverage for local stations WKEU, WKEU-FM,
and WHIE.
Dave
is very active with law enforcement, local, state, and federal, but
his focus is the future of our children, our future community. He is
the ONLY Partner in Education with RESA Academy, an alternative school
serving students with behavior issues. He sponsors the Odyssey of the
Mind, a national competition of problem-solving at Taylor Street
Middle School, plus dozens of events for scouts, schools, and civic
groups.
Dave
was elected to the Spalding County Board of Commissioners from the
Second District for a four-year term in November 2006; sworn in
December 18, 2006. |
