Electricity:
As part of Georgia’s modern integrated electrical transmission system, Griffin has an excellent ability to supply industrial demands. Providers include the Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia which supplies the City of Griffin; investor owned Georgia Power Company; and Oglethorpe Power Corporation which supplies the local electric membership corporation.

Natural Gas:
Available in industrial quantities on both a firm and an interruptible basis.

Water:
Plant capacity: 12,000,000 gal/day Storage capacity: 2.0 million gal. city elevated and 1 million county elevated. Also, 5.1 million finished water storage at treatment plants.

Sewerage:
Plant capacity: 5,000,000 gal/day. Primary and secondary treatment plants.

Taxes:

Property taxes are determined by tax rates and assessment ratios which vary by location.

Freeport Tax Exemption: One hundred percent (100%) Freeport Exemption on inventory in all three classes.

Sales: The city and county have a 2% local sales tax in addition to the 4% state sales tax.
