Geocaching is the perfect opportunity to rediscover and appreciate the beautiful parks in our county. With trails, playgrounds, picnic areas, and now hidden treasures waiting tobe found, there's never been a better time to get back into the parks and enjoy all they have to offer. Join us starting August 17th for an ongoing geocaching adventure! Download the app, lace up your hiking boots, and start hunting for treasures hidden throughout our county parks. Happy Geocaching!

What is Geocaching?

Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache(container) hidden at that location. It's a fun and exciting way to explore the outdoors, discover hidden treasures, and enjoy the beauty of our county parks!

Where Can You Geocache?

Starting August 17th, geocaching will be available in five of our beautiful county parks:

1. Wyomia Tyus Olympic Park

2. Airport Road Park

3. Orchard Hill Park

4. Griffin City Park

5. Park at 6th

How to Get Started?

1. Download the Geocaching App: Begin your adventure by downloading the official Geocaching app, available for both iOS and Android devices.

2. Create an Account: Sign up for a free account on the app. This will allow you to log your finds, track your progress, and share your experiences with the community. Add us as a friend“PlayInSpalding”

3. Choose a Geocache: Using the app, find geocaches hidden in our county parks. Each geocache will have a description, coordinates, and difficulty rating.

4. Start Hunting: Use the GPS on your device to navigate to the geocache's location. Once you find the hidden treasure, sign the logbook and share your adventure on the app. Then bring the key into our office at 843 Memorial Drive, Griffin GA for an official Geostone.

5. Respect the Environment: While enjoying geocaching, please remember to respect nature and follow Leave No Trace principles.
